Who We Are
Shanti Niketan Centre for Learning, an initiative of El Shaddai, was established in 1999 in a small house in Saligao. It began with a vision to support children from economically vulnerable backgrounds through an approach that includes not just the child, but also their families and communities.The school was founded by Julia Matthew and later moved to Assagao, where it continues today as a space for meaningful, alternative education.We are a non-formal learning space rooted in curiosity, creativity, and a love for life. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions, and take an active role in their learning while building strong foundational skills.
